Handmade in our workshop.
Elmseeds are inspired by Johanna Westerdijk.
She was appointed the first female professor in the Netherlands in 1917.
In her Office for Fungal Sciences, it has been discovered how Dutch Elm disease is spread, which is why this disease is called Dutch Elm Disease.
To honor this discovery, we make these ELMseeds for you, a beautiful Dutch piece of jewelry made of sustainable silver and parchment.
All jewelry is handmade by women who have left the workforce.
By making these beautiful jewelry, they make social contacts again.
They gain self-confidence and more enjoyment in life.
Nothing is more healing than art.
MAAK!design is a unique collaboration between Maja Houtman and Karin Wichers.
